Our Housing Options

The Wisconsin Rapids Housing Authority offers public housing options in the city of Wisconsin Rapids. There are two general occupancy apartment buildings with single bedroom units for those 18 years of age and older but with preferences for elderly and near elderly. The Housing Authority also offers 37 scattered site houses (2-5 bedrooms). The Wisconsin Rapids Housing Authority serves as the landlord for Public Housing properties.

Section 8 housing options are offered through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and RAD Project Based Voucher (PBV) programs. In the HCV program, eligible families rent housing units that are owned by private landlords. Wisconsin Rapids Housing Authority provides housing assistance payments to those landlords to assist tenants with their rent payments.


In the RAD PBV program, eligible families rent units located at our Huntington House Redevelopment, LLC apartments, where the Wisconsin Rapids Housing Authority provides project based rental assistance.
